Our 1st solutions focus area is Intelligent Healthcare Strategy. While not all of our solutions require this, it is a highly recommended stage for any complex Healthcare transformation or interoperability project. There are Many Solution Options, Which one Makes Sense? There are literally 100’s of significant Healthcare interoperability approaches being explored today both within the United States and across the world. While many of these efforts are in some way coordinated either through shared goals, initiatives or standards, the majority are still unique in their approach to the problem. The one characteristic shared by the majority of these solutions is the expressed desire to achieve Healthcare Interoperability. The need for such a shared goal is abundantly obvious; however, upon closer examination it begins to seem clear that the goal and the means to achieve a goal may be confused. Healthcare interoperability or interoperability exchanges are simply the most immediate problem in a much larger technology picture. We may very well achieve excellent results with various data exchange solutions and still not experience improvements in Healthcare outcomes. The interoperability endeavors must serve a larger set of goals – understanding those goals while addressing fundamental engineering building blocks is critical to keeping the true goals aligned with our Healthcare initiatives. It is for this reason we decided to attempt a definition of the larger set of goals in context with emerging solutions. This new metaphor for Healthcare IT is called “Intelligent Healthcare.”
